STEM教育包含了以下領域內的知識，由Science（科學）, Technology（技術）, Engineering（工程）與Mathematics（數學）所結合而成的縮寫字。
有效的STEM教育能夠豐富學生的學習經歷，透過應用相關知識與技能，學習解決不同問題，培養正面積極態度。
2006年，時任美國總統布殊在《美國創新與競爭法》中，提出知識型經濟時代教育目標之一是培養人們有關STEM的知識領域，並稱STEM教育為全球化世界中的競爭力之關鍵要素。
2015年12月，美國教育部正式發表了STEM教育法案，有系統地從教師培訓、社會協助、校內外相結合等方面規劃了STEM教育的推行。
編程可以訓練孩子獨立思考、解決問題的能力，以及培養勇於創新的精神。傳統教育過於看重小朋友的分數，令他們傾向想立即得到標準的答案或解法，缺乏思考解難過程。把標準作法做到很熟悉固然容易取得高分，然而對於問題的本質思考卻很少。加上世界上存在許多沒有標準答案的問題，長期以這種方式學習，將大大限縮了孩子的創造能力與思考力。
而學習編程的過程能夠真正提升小朋友四方面的能力:「獨立思考」、「邏輯推理」、「解決問題」及「創造發明」能力；在面對問題時，懂得去思考問題、拆解問題、進行各種邏輯推理，並能陳述解決問題的演算步驟，這就是運算思維的訓練。幫助孩子從小就開始培養這四種能力，以面對未來更多的挑戰 !
我們旨在將編程教學融入日常生活中的科普知識，並整合STEM的概念，讓所有孩子在學習程式之外，也能像Maker一樣自己動手解決問題，用創造力去實現自己的想像力。
